800 Zamboanga City residents get health assistance

Some 800 residents in Barangay La Paz, Zamboanga City have received health assistance.

The Philippine Red Cross-Zamboanga City, in partnership with the City Health Office and with the support from Australian Aid, launched anew its Health Caravan initiative Saturday, November 18.

Held at the La Paz barangay covered court, the city government said the Health Caravan services included health consultation with medicines, blood typing, vital signs taking, health and hygiene promotion (handwashing), free haircut and massage, flu vaccination, free eye consultation with free reading eye glasses, blood sugar testing, child friendly space, MAAB membership program, lecture on BLS/ first aid demo, and disaster preparedness, among others.

The beneficiaries were from Pole Diutay, Pole Grande, Camp Susana, La Paz Km 4, 5, 6 and 7 – remote communities that can hardly access basic services.
