A first in BARMM: Bagong Pilipinas brings P700M cash aid, services to Tawi-Tawi

By Billy Begas

Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, an initiative of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez was launched in Tawi-Tawi, the first in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Romualdez led the opening of the Serbisyo Caravan that brought P700 million worth of financial aid and government services to some 135,000 beneficiaries.

This is the 18th installment of the Serbisyo Caravan, which aims to cover all 82 provinces nationwide. Tawi-Tawi Gov. Yshmael Sali and Rep. Dimszar Sali served as the local hosts of the event.

Over 40 national government agencies joined the event.

Some P319 million worth of cash assistance was distributed during the two-day event.

No geographical divide can stop the government from serving its people,” the House leader said.
