Adiong admin, OPAPRU hold seminar on implementing peace deal’s normalization program in Lanao

The Lanao del Sur government under the leadership of Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) have organized a workshop on Localizing Normalization Implementation (LNI) program.

The activity, which was held Thursday, March 21, brought together various stakeholders, including representatives from the provincial governments of Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte, line agencies, and the security sector.

“The presentations covered topics such as the LNI program and an overview of the basic packages, the socio-economic package for MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) Decommissioned Combatants, Camps transformation project, PTVE projects, and PAMANA projects,” the provincial government of Lanao del Sur said.

The LNI program seeks to establish an effective structure for managing and implementing the Normalization Program, which is a crucial part of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro between the Philippine government and the MILF.

Normalization Program aims to transition former combatants into peaceful and productive civilians, while also promoting progress and resilience in their communities.
