Bagonoc to DepEd: Integrate hybrid warfare subjects in schools

General Santos City Councilor Elizabeth Bagonoc is urging the Department of Education to promote and equip students with the necessary knowledge to understand the complex nature of modern global conflicts.

In a filed resolution, Bagonoc noted the recent global conflicts have evolved to include not only conventional warfare, but also hybrid strategies that combine military, technological, and informational tactics.

She said the current educational curriculum in Political Science, History, Information Technology and Media studies can be effectively improved in lessons on hybrid warfare. This, she added, will help encourage critical thinking among students.

“An informed public especially the students that is capable of understanding the difficulties of hybrid warfare is important to the resilience and security of our country,” Bagonoc explained.
