Bangsamoro gov’t to build 8 infra projects for Maguindanao IPs

The Bangsamoro government has conducted groundbreaking ceremonies for eight infrastructure projects for indigenous communities in Maguindanao del Sur and del Norte.

Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA) Minister Melanio Ulama said the projects amount to P61.9 million and are funded under the 2021 Special Development Fund (SDF).

The projects include the tribal halls in Barangays Pura in Datu Datu Odin Sinsuat, Bugabungan in Upi, Ranao Pilayan in Upi, and Looy in South Up; water systems level II in Barangays Kinitaan in Upi and Kabinge in Datu Saudi Ampatuan; Indigenous Peoples Peace Hall at Brgy. Talisawa in Datu Abdullah Sangki; and 50 units of core shelters in Barangay Limpongo in Datu Hoffer Ampatuan.

Ulama, who led the groundbreaking ceremonies on January 12, 13, and 17, ensured that the ministry will continue to provide quality services and protect the welfare of every indigenous people in the Bangsamoro region.
