The Bangsamoro government’s Office of the Chief Minister has disposed of 56 boxes of “valueless” documents to declog its storage and improve records management.
The paper records were brought to a sanitary landfill in Barangay Gadungan, Parang, Maguindanao.
The disposal of the documents is in accordance with Republic Act No. 9470, or the National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007.
Records Division Chief Rayhana Mokamad said the biennial activity marked the second disposal of valueless paper records.
The documents included endorsement papers, daily time records, and other records that are no longer needed.
“Our main objective is to dispose of the valueless paper records to maintain compliance and accountability as a records management office and to make the space spacious,” said Mokamad.
She added that the documents were buried instead of burned to comply with the Clean Air Act.
