Bangsamoro Parliament OKs 2nd BDP

The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament has adopted the proposed Resolution No. 147 or the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028.

The adoption of the resolution took place Wednesday, January 18, during the Parliament’s regular session.

Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim underscored the crucial and potential impact of the plan.

He said the 2nd DBP shall serve as a guide for all Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) ministries, line agencies, and offices in formulating and pursuing their plans, programs, and projects thereby contributing to the attainment of the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the Bangsamoro region.

“It is also worth noting that in this process, the 1st Bangsamoro Development Plan served as one of the main Reference Documents—from budget preparation to the deliberation during the hearings, and finally to the eventual approval of the Budget. As always, we wanted to make sure that our budget is consistent with our moral governance agenda and the Bangsamoro Development,” he said.

The formulation of the 2nd BDP is a medium-term development roadmap to sustain the gains and pursue the development thrust, priorities including the utilization of the Special Development Plan (SDF).

It will also serve as the strategic direction of the Bangsamoro government to ensure that the budget is consistent with the Moral Governance agenda for the next six years.
