Cong. Zia Adiong Challenges Bypass of Congress on Health Treaties

Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong wrote on his page his stand against the controversial push to bypass Congress in approving international health treaties.

Despite the congressional session break, the Politiko, being the outspoken Vice Chair of the Committee on Human Rights, made waves as he passionately argued that lawmakers must have a say in these crucial agreements. “Bilang Vice Chair ng Committee on Human Rights, binigyang-diin natin ang kahalagahan ng pagiging bahagi ng Kongreso sa pag-apruba ng mga kasunduang internasyonal, lalo na kung ito ay may kinalaman sa kalusugan” the Politiko wrote on his page slamming the move to exclude Congress from the process.

The Politiko also added the importance of legislative oversight in the adoption of international treaties, highlighting his commitment to preserving congressional authority and public welfare.
