The Cotabato government, led by Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza, has congratulated Trade Union Congress of the Philippines Representative and Deputy Speaker Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza on his election at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations- Trade Union Council (ASEAN-TUC).
The lawmaker was chosen as the new General Secretary of the group.
The election was held during the Trade Union Council General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia, on February 10.
“Ang pagkakapili kay Cong. Mendoza ay nagbibigay ng boses sa mga manggagawang Pilipino at nagpapatibay sa pagsusulong at pangangalaga ng karapatan at kapakanan ng mga ito,” the provincial government said.
The ASEAN-TUC is a group of national trade union centers in Southeast Asia that aims to promote the rights and welfare of workers and to strengthen social dialogue among the government, employers, and the labor sector.
