Dahil kay ‘Mawar’! Mayor Huervas asks Valencia City barangay chiefs to activate IMTs

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas has ordered all 31 punong barangays in the city to activate their respective Incident Management Teams (IMT) amid the threat of Super Typhoon “Mawar.”

In a public advisory issued Thursday, May 25, Huervas also urged those living in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas to be vigilant and prepare for the possible damage to be brought about by Mawar.

The super typhoon, which will be named “Betty,” may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Friday night or early Saturday, the weather forecasting agency said.

“For your safety and protection, monitor the weather, take precautionary measures, and stay indoors, when necessary,” Huervas said.

She said the IMTs should monitor their respective areas of responsibility (AORs) to respond to any untoward incidents due to super typhoon.
