The Tawi-Tawi government has reminded the people that the release of public funds will generally be prohibited in the coming days due to the holding of the first parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The ban will be effective from September 4 to 14, the election day.
The provincial government said the funds to be released are only for medical and burial assistance and other allowable transactions, as provided by law.
“During this period, some government financial assistance, project fund releases, and other transactions involving the disbursement of public funds may be delayed,” it said.
The provincial government also advised the public to plan transactions with government offices ahead of time and allow for possible delays.
“Essential government services will continue to be provided during this period,” it said.
The public is encouraged to coordinate with the concerned government offices for guidance on transactions that may be affected.
