DENR, Malungon join forces for greening projects

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has tapped the municipal government of Malungon in Sarangani province to help manage the national government’s Enhanced National Greening Program.

Malungon Mayor Tessa Constatino recently signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with the DENR to fully manage of the three people’s organizations identified by DENR to rehabilitate and develop forest areas in the municipality.

The project will cover 120 hectares in the upland barangays of Kawayan, Upper Lumabat and Datal Tampal.

“We have a total of about 6,660 trees planted last year, but as of now, we are targeting to plant 120 hectares at dito na yan lahat itutudo sa three barangays of Malungon,” said Protected Area Superintendent (PASU) Joy Ologuin.
