Dimaporo gov’t inspects resettlement area in Lanao del Norte prior to groundbreaking

The Lanao del Norte government, under the leadership of Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo, has conducted an ocular site visit of a resettlement area in preparation for its groundbreaking.

The Technical Working Group (TWG) inspected the Bilal Community Resettlement and Development Areal, a Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) community in Sitio Kora-Kora, Tamparan, Munai, Lanao del Norte.

The TWG is composed of the representatives of the Department of the Interior and Local Government of Lanao del Norte (DILG-LDN), National Housing Authority (NHA), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Pakigdait Inc., and other local government offices.

Sangguniang Panalalawigan Member Marivic Ramos represented DImaporo in the event.

“What we are doing right now is site inspection. This has already been coordinated with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) and the Joint Task Force on Camp Transformation. This is to prepare us all for the groundbreaking,” said DILG-LDN Provincial Director Bruce Colao.

The comprehensive site inspection aimed to ensure that all logistical and technical requirements for the venue were met before the project’s commencement.

The housing project is part of a broader initiative designed to support former Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) combatants and their communities in transitioning to peaceful and productive civilian lives.

The final date for the groundbreaking ceremony is yet to be scheduled.
