Figment of imagination! Pacquiao camp denies corruption claims

The camp of General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao has criticized alleged efforts of the opposition to discredit the administration.

In a message to Politiko, City Administrator Franklin Gacal Jr. also denied allegations of corruption hurled by the Regional Communities Reforms Initiatives (RCRi) party, headed by former City Mayor Ronnel Rivera.

“All lies. Black propaganda of a political party which has no political structure to rely on,” Gacal said.

On Thursday, Vice Mayor Rosalita Nuñez exposed what she said are red flags of possible corruption under the Pacquiao administration, to include the alleged 20 percent kickbacks in all infrastructure projects and the overpriced Supplementary Feeding Program.

Nuñez also said cases are now being prepared against the administration for these alleged irregularities.

In response, Gacal asserted that any efforts of the Rivera camp to destroy the Pacquiao administration will be an “exercise in futility”.

“It will be an exercise in futility considering it is a mere figment of the imagination of the RCRi party,” the official said.
