GenSan celebrates MSU’s first female summa cum laude

The city of General Santos has taken pride in the academic achievement of Eden Barbiel Umadhay, the first female summa cum laude from the College of Business Administration of Mindanao State University-General Santos Campus.

Eden finished her undergraduate studies with a general weighted average grade of 1.19918, marking her as the highest achiever in the college’s 50-year history.

“She’s Mindanao State University’s first female summa cum laude and the fourth summa cum laude in 50 years,” Councilor Lourdes Casabuena said as she read the certificate of commendation Tuesday.

“Ms. Umadhay’s academic achievement is a testament to the truth that success knows no gender if a person only puts her heart to achieving it. Such achievement is a source of inspiration to everyone,” Casabuena added.
