GenSan council lauds city’s P460M business permit collection

The General Santos City government reportedly has collected P460 million from the application and renewal of business permits this year.

Members of the Sanggunian Panlungsod has filed a resolution commending the Business Permits and Licensing Divison (BPLD) under the supervision of the City Treasurer’s Office for the successful operationalization of its business permits and licensing system and electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS).

City lawmakers noted the “exceptional performance” of BPLD resulted in a smooth and hassle-free experience for business owners resulting in collection efficiency.

Acting division chief Christian Mark Abarquez announced that they had renewed a total of 11,197 business permits and have issued a total of 278 new business permits for 2024.

“So, base po sa ating data as of March 2024 we have renewed a total of 11,197 business permits and we have issued also a total of 278 na mga new business permits, and for a total of 11 475,” he said.

Last month, City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao has cited the first 50 taxpayers who have processed their business permits this year.

“Tulungan nyo po ako sa pagsulong ng isang gobyernong malinis upang sa ganon ay ating pag unlad ay mabilis,” the mayor said during the event.
