GenSan former mayor Rivera to Pacquiao: Stop spreading lies

Former Mayor Ronnel Rivera of General Santos City has called on current Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao to cease spreading falsehoods about his administration.

In a letter, Rivera refuted allegations made by City Administrator Franklin Gacal regarding unliquidated cash advances amounting to P16 million.

Rivera emphasized that any further baseless accusations would prompt legal action. He clarified that he had properly accounted for the funds in question to the Commission on Audit.

The exchange follows Gacal’s public statement and a demand letter from the City Accountant urging Rivera to settle his alleged liabilities.

Rivera hinted at potential political motives behind the accusations, noting the significant increase in intelligence funds under Pacquiao’s administration.
