GenSan LGU warns vs. fake class suspension announcement

The city government of General Santos warned its residents against a fake class suspension announcement on Friday, February 2.

City Administrator Franklin Gacal issued the warning after a supposed copy of Executive Order No. 6 ordering class suspension is trending and shared on social media and group chats.

“Fake news iyan,” Gacal clarified in a message.

Gacal also reminded the public that all official announcements from the city government shall be made through the official GenSan LGU FB page.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Civil Defense Region 12 said Friday morning that several LGUs have ordered the suspension of classes in both public and private elementary and secondary schools, due to inclement weather.

These include, Cotabato Province (Aleosan, Antipas, M’lang, Makilala); Sultan Kudarat Province (All 12 LGUs)) and South Cotabato Province (Tupi, Polomolok,Tantangan, Surallah). State weather bureau PAGASA said that the trough of a low pressure area is affecting Mindanao that will likely bring thunderstorms and rainfall with cloudy skies
