GenSan marks 56th City Charter Anniversary

General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao has extended her greetings to her constituents, as the city celebrates its 56th Charter Anniversary on Saturday.

Mabuhay ang General Santos City!,” she added.

On June 15, 1968, Republic Act No. 5412 was enacted creating the City of General Santos independent of the province of South Cotabato.

The date, however, is not a holiday, as each city is only allowed two local holidays. Kalilangan Festival on February 27 and the Tuna Festival on September 5 are the two special non-working holidays in GenSan.
