GenSan Mayor Pacquiao to support Pangilinan’s 2025 bid

General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao expressed support for former Senator Kiko Pangilinan in his bid to return in the Senate in 2025.

The former senator revealed this development after his meeting with Pacquiao during his courtesy visit on Friday.

“Tinanong niya sa akin, sabi ko mukhang 80 percent lalaban tayo ngayon balik-Senado. So, sabi niya tutulungan niya tayo when we finally decide. Malaking bagay din,” Pangilinan said.

Pangilinan, who was former vice president Leni Robredo’s running-mate in the 2022 presidential polls, will be running under Liberal Party’s banner.

“I’m still with the Liberal Party, since 1988. So nasa Liberal Party pa rin tayo, although may mga coalitions,” he added.

The mayor’s brother-in-law, former senator Manny Pacquiao, also announced his attempt to stage a comeback to the Senate as part of the Marcos administration’s slate in 2025.
