GenSan passes DILG 2023 fiscal governance assessment

General Santos City, under the leadership of City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao, has earned another feather in its cap.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced that the city passed the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) After Assessment Compliance.

The GFH has served as an assessment tool used by the DILG to measure the performance of the local government in the use of public funds with full transparency.

Also included in the list of passers in the Soccsksargen region are the municipality of Glan, in Sarangani Province; Senator Ninoy Aquino, Isulan, Banga, Norala, Sto. Niño, and Lake Sebu in South Cotabato and M’lang, and Midsayap towns in Cotabato. The DILG summary report was as of April 30, 2024.

Earlier this month, the Anti-Red Tape Authority commended the Pacquiao administration for its best practices on ease of doing business and anti-red tape initiatives. The city was also cited as one of the best cities to live, according to the Economics Global Cities Index 2024 by Oxford Economic.
