GenSan PNP offers free rides amid transport strike

The General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) has deployed patrol vehicles offering free rides to commuters during Monday’s nationwide transport strike.

Police City Director PColonel Nicomedes Olaivar, Jr. said a total of 230 passengers benefited from GSCPO’s “libreng sakay” initiative.

“A total of twenty (20) PNP patrol vehicles have been utilized to conduct Libreng Sakay to our commuters here in General Santos City,” Olaivar said.

The city top cop also ordered the deployment of police personnel to ensure public safety during the two-day nationwide transport strike initiated by transport groups Piston and Manibela.

“General Santos City Police Office is fully committed to maintaining peace, order, and security throughout the city,” the official added.
