GenSan top cop reports peace and order status in closed-door SP session

The General Santos City Police Office has sought for an executive session with the members of the city council on Tuesday to discuss the alarming rate of shooting incidents in the city.

Snitch Media learned that City Police Director PColonel Nicomedes Olaivar has requested the 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod to discuss the matter on a closed door due to the confidentiality of the ongoing investigation.

Olaivar was invited to update city lawmakers on the peace and order situation as the number of reported victims of shooting incidents has risen to 24 in the past seven months.

Earlier this week, the city police intensified its anti-crime strategy plan with its Oplan GSCPO 2024 or Guarding Society: Combatting Pervasive Offensive 2024.

“This anti -crime strategy plan was conceptualized to send strong signals to criminals and other threat groups that the GSCPO-PNP is committed to uphold the rule of law and promote community-based advocacy program that aims to empower communities to participate the campaign for law and order in the City of General Santos,” Olaivar said.
