GenSan’s Yaman initiative earns presidential recognition

The Department of Trade and Industry on Thursday has recognized General Santos City’s initiative in supporting and promoting local entrepreneurs.

The General Santos city government was among the local government units cited by DTI in its 2024 Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners for its Yaman GenSan initiative.

“With their programs developed to improve business climate, access to finance, markets, technology and innovation, and management/labor capacities of the micro, small and medium enterprises, these champions are paving the way for the sustained economic growth of the country,” DTI said.

Dubbed as the Yabong Maliliit na Negosyo sa GenSan or better known as Yaman GenSan is a yearly event that promotes and helps local entrepreneurs as it focuses on activities geared towards the upliftment of small and medium enterprises.

Last month, Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao signed an agreement with DTI aimed to further boost the local businesses in the city.
