Gov Bautista declares ‘mental health break’ for Davao Occidental gov’t employees

Davao Occidental Governor Franklin Bautista has declared a ā€œmental health breakā€ every 4:00 p.m. in the workplace for two months starting September 1.

He issued Memorandum Order No. 104, addressed to all Davao Occidental department heads, hospital chiefs, and employees.

The mental health break is part of the observance of the Suicide Prevention Month and National Mental Health Month.

ā€œThis memorandum is hereby issued declaring every 4:00 PM as Mental Health Break starting September 1 to October 31, 2026,ā€ Bautista said in the memorandum.

ā€œThis is to allow employees to rest, recharge, and focus on self-care,ā€ he said.

During the two months, the governor said provincial government department heads, hospital chiefs, and employees are encouraged to do mental health activities, such as Zumba, board games, or other recreational activities.
