Gov. Henry S. Oaminal denounces killing of radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon

Governor Henry S. Oaminal has vehemently denounced the tragic and untimely demise of radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon, known by the moniker Johnny Walker. Jumalon was brutally killed in the early hours of November 5, 2023, while carrying out his media duties within the confines of his announcer’s booth, situated at his residence in Purok 2, Brgy. Don Bernardo A. Neri, Calamba, Misamis Occidental.

According to initial reports provided by Calamba Municipal Mayor Jun Villanueva, the assailant gained access by feigning an urgent announcement, only to perpetrate the heinous act without provocation, leaving Jumalon with fatal injuries. The radioman, recognized for his fearless journalism, was widely regarded as a truth crusader.

Governor Oaminal expressed his deep condolences to Jumalon’s family and the entire community, acknowledging the profound loss of a fearless broadcaster. He conveyed a firm directive to Provincial Police Director Col. Dwight Monato, urging him to spare no effort in the thorough investigation of this case.
