Gov. Jim Salliman Collaborates on Feasibility Study for Basilan Airport Development Project

Governor Jim Salliman has partnered with the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) to conduct a feasibility study for the proposed Basilan Airport Development Project. The signing ceremony for this crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) took place at Marcian Hotel, Palacio del Sur.

Representing the Ministry of Transportation and Communications BARMM, Attorney Paisalin Tago was represented by Ms. Kycylynn Paraiso. Key attendees included Engr. Mohajarin Ali from BPDA, Vice Governor Yusop Alano, Lamitan Mayor Oric Furigay, Akbar Mayor Alih Sali, Board Members Nash Salain and Jay Hataman Salliman, Engr. Nelson Akmadol, the Head of PPDO, and Engr. Arnold Yap, the CPDO of Lamitan.

The MOU signing signifies a significant step towards assessing the feasibility of the proposed airport development. The collaboration among these agencies aims to harness their collective expertise to conduct a comprehensive study, forming the foundation for informed decision-making and fostering sustainable development in Basilan Province.

This project is anticipated to improve connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region. The feasibility study will evaluate various aspects of the proposed development, including environmental impact, economic viability, and technical requirements.
