Gov. Mang I. Sali Spearheads Joint Peace Rite with MNLF

Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali of Tawi-Tawi, with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and local government units (LGUs) in Tawi-Tawi convened for a joint Pagkifarat Rite on March 8, 2024. Held at Camp Hunain in the Municipality of Panglima Sugala, the event gathered over 1,000 Bangsamoro participants.

Key figures at the forefront of this gathering included MNLF Central Committee Vice-Chairman and Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament Member Ustadz Abdulkarim Tan Misuari, MNLF CC Secretary General Ustadz Murshi Ibrahim, Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali of Tawi-Tawi, and LGU Panglima Sugala Mayor Nurbert Sahali. Together, they voiced their commitment and support to fostering unity, solidarity, and cooperation for the cause of peace and prosperity, not only among Moros but for all Filipinos.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including BTA Deputy Speaker MP Atty. Randolf Parcasio, MP Dr. Martin Kahalan, MP NurRedah I. Misuari, MSSD Deputy Minister Atty. Nur-Ainee Lim, TTSRC Chairman Jihidi Hambali, 2nd Marine Brigade Commander BGen Nestor Narag, Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office Director PCol Richard Basco, along with officials and officers from the Bangsamoro Government and Tawi-Tawi Provincial Government.

This significant event, aimed at fostering peace and cooperation, was made possible through the facilitation and efforts of Mr. Sulay Halipa, Consultant to the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) for Bangsamoro Development Programs.
