Gov Mendoza congratulates Cotabato barangay volunteer responders for completing 15-day training

Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza has congratulated the 93 participants who completed the 15-day Capacity Development for Barangay Volunteer Responders in the province.

The governor personally attended the graduation rites of the seventh batch of responders held Friday, April 19, at Camp Sergio Gonzaga, Magpet town.

The participants came from the municipalities of Arakan, Pres. Roxas, Magpet, Antipas, Makilala, and Kidapawan City.

“Kabilang sa mga natutunan ng mga bagong ‘volunteer responders’ ay ang Incident Command System, Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support, Basic Rope Rescue, Water Safety Orientation, Fire Suppression, Basic Map Reading and Navigation at Basic Field Skills Techniques,” the provincial government said.

In her message, Mendoza cited the importance of the training, saying this could help the responders during times of tragedy and calamity.

She said the provincial government through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, continues to strengthen the training to ensure the safety of every Cotabateño.
