Gov Mendoza thanks solons for P300M more budget for Central Mindanao Airport

The Cotabato government has secured an additional P300 million in funding for the Central Mindanao Airport.

Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza thanked the lawmakers who helped in providing the budget for the project to be implemented in M’lang, Cotabato.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez, 3rd District Rep. Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos, and Deputy Speaker and Trade Union Congress of the Philippines Representative Raymond Democrito Mendoza have facilitated to secure the funds for the airport.

“Kabilang sa mga proyektong ilalagay sa airport na popondohan ng nasabing halaga ay ang runway, strip grade correction, and provision of runway end safety areas (RESA),” the provincial government said.

In a recent meeting led by the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, the provincial government said that based on the update of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Project Management Office, the bidding for the runway would be held on July 10.

In 2022, P50 million was allotted for the airport site development and construction of open canal and in 2021, P32.5 million was earmarked for the ongoing rehabilitation of passenger terminal building, construction of power house, vehicular parking area, and transformer yard.

Also present in the meeting were the other DOTr and local government representatives.
