Gov. Nilo Demerey Addresses Infrastructure Needs of Dinagat Municipality

During a crucial meeting at his office on March 7, 2024, Governor Nilo “Remedy” P. Demerey, Jr., engaged in discussions with Dinagat Municipal Mayor Simplicio “Yoyo” Leyran, Jr., focusing on vital infrastructure projects needed for the town’s development.

Mayor Leyran, accompanied by Municipal Engineer Rodolfo Jr. and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Elmer D. Quick, presented two significant concerns that demand immediate attention and action to Governor Demerey.

The primary proposal centered around the initiation of a “Farm to Market Road” project in Bagumbayan. This ambitious plan involves constructing approximately 2 kilometers of road, designed to significantly enhance the accessibility for local farmers, boost the agricultural sector, and foster economic growth within Dinagat.

Additionally, the Mayor’s team brought to light the ongoing Slope Protection Project, emphasizing the critical need for its study and continuation to safeguard the region’s infrastructure and ensure the safety of its residents.

Governor Demerey, in response, assured his commitment to addressing the needs presented by the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Dinagat, underscoring his administration’s dedication to improving the welfare and security of its inhabitants. The meeting marks a pivotal step toward infrastructural development and economic enhancement in the Dinagat Islands, reflecting the collaborative effort between local government units to achieve sustainable progress.
