Gov. Nilo Demerey Jr. Champions Education in Dinagat Islands with SWU-PHINMA Collaboration

Governor Nilo P. Demerey, Jr., MPM, in collaboration with Southwestern University-PHINMA (SWU-PHINMA), spearheaded a Scholarship Forum on March 21, 2024, at the PEOC Function Hall in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, San Jose, Dinagat Islands. Governor Demerey’s leadership vision prioritizes elevating the educational standards for Dinagat Islands’ youth. During discussions with SWU-PHINMA representatives, the governor pledged unwavering support for initiatives aimed at enhancing educational opportunities, particularly in the fields of medicine and law. Aligned with Governor Demerey’s commitment, SWU-PHINMA continues to expand scholarship offerings, including full tuition fee coverage, zero miscellaneous fees with monthly allowances, The Best You Merit Scholarship with a 10k All-in fee per semester until graduation, and the Holding of Hand Scholarship offering 55% off tuition fees until graduation. Provincial Human Resource and Management Officer, Elvis Dela Marced, echoed Governor Demerey’s sentiments, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in addressing poverty and praising SWU-PHINMA’s significant contribution to youth empowerment in the province. Present at the forum were Board Member Reggivi Amor Alcaria, Committee on Education Board Member Jocelyn Relator, PHRM Officer Elvis Dela Merced, MPA, Security Officer IV/LCE Authorized Representative Nilo Marco M.
