Gov. Nilo Demerey meets with DMW Usec to oversee trainings

Governor Nilo P. Demerey, Jr. MPM personally accompanied Undersecretary Bernard Olalia of the Department of Migrant Workers on a visit to oversee the training sessions for seasonal worker applicants on March 10, 2024.

The visit aimed to assess the progress of the training conducted at various locations within the province.

During the visit, Governor Demerey was praised by Usec. Olalia for his leadership in implementing the Seasonal Workers Program in collaboration with the Republic of Korea.

The governor’s initiative was applauded for its contribution to empowering migrant workers in the province.

In his address, Governor Demerey expressed gratitude for the support from the Department of Migrant Workers and emphasized the importance of preparing workers for overseas employment opportunities.

He reiterated his commitment to enhancing the skills and well-being of migrant workers in Dinagat Islands.

Furthermore, Governor Demerey highlighted the dedication of the applicants to learning the Korean language and undergoing physical fitness training, ensuring they are well-equipped for the challenges ahead.

The governor’s proactive approach to migrant worker preparation received commendation from Usec. Olalia, who pledged continued support from the Department of Migrant Workers for future initiatives under Governor Demerey’s leadership.
