Gov. Nilo P. Demerey Jr. Leads Independence Day Commemoration in San Jose, PDI

Governor Nilo P. Demerey, Jr., MPM, led a gathering at the Provincial Capitol in Cuarinta to commemorate the 82nd Independence Day, with the theme “Isabuhay ang Kagitingan, Kapayapaan ay Pagkaisahan, Kamtin ang Mithing Kaunlaran” (Live Valor, Unite for Peace, Achieve the Aspiration for Progress). The event was organized to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.

In his welcome address, Governor Demerey Jr. emphasized the ongoing spirit of generosity prevailing in society. He commended soldiers, police officers, teachers, health workers, and other civil servants for their unwavering courage and dedication in serving the nation and their fellow Filipinos. He remarked, “Their daily sacrifices and resilience serve as a testament to their patriotism.” Additionally, he stressed the importance of individuals demonstrating character through tolerance, concern, and love for the nation.

Adding depth to the ceremony, MAJ FEDINAND L MOPAL PA, Director of the 1505th CDC Philippine Army, delivered a solidarity message, emphasizing the significance of unity and collective action in advancing the values of courage and patriotism.

A cultural presentation by Tubajon National High School further enriched the event. The presence of Provincial Capitol Employees, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, DepED Dinagat Islands Division, and other Line Agencies underscored the unity and commitment to honoring the nation’s heroes.
