Gov Pacquiao pushes for province-wide tree planting activity

Sarangani Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao has led the launching of a province-wide tree planting activity as part of the province’s support to the Philippine Environment Month.

Dubbed “One Million Trees Project – TREE-mendous Festival,” the simultaneous tree planting activity in all the seven municipalities in the province was held on Friday, June 14.

“The province-wide tree planting activity was also in support to the Philippine Environment Month celebrated every June which advocates for the protection, enhancement, and development of the country’s environment, and the Philippine Arbor Day, which has been institutionalized to be observed every June 25 throughout the nation by planting trees and ornamental plants,” the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.

The initiatives were all achored towards Pacquiao’s governance directions on environmental protection and preservation for a greener and cleaner Sarangani province, through his brainchild program, the Reforestation Development Program or RDP, it said.

Joining the governor at the event were Provincial Tourism Council of Sarangani Incorporated President and First Lady Jobelle Pacquiao, Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon represented by Engr. Gerald Faciol, Municipal Mayor Vic Paul Salarda and Municipal Administrator Lilibeth Salarda, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and the of the government employees and partner agencies at Barangay Paraiso, in Alabel.
