Gov Pacquiao, TESDA ink deal for skills training programs in Sarangani barangays

Sarangani Governor Rogelio Pacquiao has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to institutionalize the training programs at the barangay level.

The signing of the deal paved the way for the launching of the TESDA sa Barangay Friday, April 12, at Greenleaf Hotel in General Santos City.

The program aims to help produce skilled individuals and boost local economies through mainstreaming Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at the community level.

“We are grateful to TESDA for this initiative aron mas ma-strengthen pa ang atong educational and livelihood programs para sa atong mga Sarangans at the barangay or local level,” Pacquiao said.

TESDA SarGen Provincial Director Engr. Alfredo Panuela Jr., who signed the MOU on the part of TESDA, said the program also seeks to provide employment opportunities for National Certificate (NC I and II) holders through job linkages, network services, job fairs, employment programs, and livelihood assistance.

Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, as well as the municipal mayors of the seven municipalities, witnessed the MOU signing and showed their support by signing the pledge of commitment.
