Gov Salliman thanks Army’s 64th IB for its service to Basileños

Basilan Governor Jim Salliman has commended Col. Abel Potutan, commander of the 64th Infantry Battalion, and his men for their service to the province.

Potutan paid his exit call to Salliman at the Provincial Capitol Tuesday, April 2, following the battalion’s expected transfer to Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

“The 64th IB has served Basilan for 9 years, making it one of the oldest Army unit to have served the island province, particularly in the Municipality of Sumisip,” the provincial government said.

Salliman thanked Potutan and the entire 64th IB for their dedication in the service of Basilan and its people for the past 15 years.
