Kidapawan City wins DSWD Walang Gutom nat’l award

Kidapawan City Mayor Pao Evangelista has expressed his gratitude to city workers for the success of their anti-hunger programs.

The city government was among the 10 local government units honored by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the inaugural Walang Gutom Awards on Wednesday for their outstanding initiatives to eradicate hunger in their communities.

“Kaluy-an, ganinang buntag, gi award ta as National Winner. Salamat sa City Agri headed by Mam Marissa Aton, CHO headed by Doc Joy Encienzo, ug sa CSWDO headed by Mam Daisy Gaviola sa pag implementar sa mahinungdanon na mga proyekto alang sa atoang katilingban. Congratulations sa atoang tanan! God bless!,” Pao posted on Facebook.

The winning LGUs received at least P2 million worth of Sustainable Livelihood Program Funds.

The Walang Gutom Awards is a collaboration between the DSWD and the GPF that aims to honor and replicate the best practices of LGUs in mitigating hunger in their respective localities.
