The Maguindanao del Sur disaster and emergency frontline personnel, together with the Philippine Army, have undergone Search and Rescue Auxiliary Training (SARAT).
The activity was held from August 23 to 29 at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Training Center in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur.
“Tinatayang 29 na PDRRMO staff at Philippine Army personnel ang matagumpay na pinalawak ang kaalaman para sa mga susunod na rescue mission sa lalawigan,” the provincial government said.
Participants attended the lectures and water survival training held in Polomolok Nature’s Bounty.
“Layunin ng pagsasanay na patatagin ang kaligtasan sa tubig, kahandaan, at mga kasanayan sa pagtiyak ng sariling kaligtasan (self-rescue skills) ng mga kalahok upang makatugon nang mabilis, ligtas, at epektibo sa panahon ng mga sakuna,” the provincial government said.
The initiative was part of the program of Governor Datu Ali M. Midtimbang Sr. and his administration to ensure that the province is always ready for any disaster threats.
