Marcos gives aid to El Niño-affected farmers in Zamboanga

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the distribution of financial assistance to farmers and fisherfolk affected by the El Niño phenomenon in Mindanao.

On Thursday, the President visited Zamboanga Peninsula and extended a total of P60 million aid to the area affected by drought and heat.

Also given were PhP10,000 each to 10,000 farmers and fisherfolks.

During his speech, the President vowed to continue to provide assistance to affected local government units amid the extreme weather situation.

“Makakaasa po kayo na ang inyong pamahalaan ay walang humpay na magtatrabaho upang palaguin ang ating ekonomiya para makamtan natin lahat ang isang masaganang buhay para sa bawat Pilipino,” he said.

The President is also scheduled to distribute assistance to El Niño affected areas in the Soccsksargen region on Friday.
