Mati City earns Red Orchid Award for anti-smoking drive

The Department of Health (DOH) has recognized the Mati City for its campaign in prohibiting and penalizing cigarette smoking in public places.

The DOH, in collaboration with validators from the DOH Davao de Oro, conducted the first-year validation for local government unit (LGU) of Mati through the City Health Office.

Following the validation, the Mati City LGU earned the distinction as a Red Orchid Awardee for its anti-smoking drive in public places.

“The LGU- City of Mati not only met the standards but surpassed them, scoring a remarkable 89 out of 81, equating to an astounding rate of 109.8%,” the city government said.
