The Local Government Unit of Shariff Aguak, led by Mayor Akmad “Mitra” S. Ampatuan Sr., formally deeded and turned over a 4.7-hectare parcel of land to the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (MDSPPO). The strategic property has historically served security operations since the early 1970s—originally operating as a Philippine Constabulary detachment following the municipality’s creation, transitioning to the Philippine National Police, and serving as the official Provincial Headquarters since 1997.
Witnessed by Vice Mayor Akmad B. Ampatuan Jr., Sangguniang Bayan members, and local village leaders, the deed transfer was accepted by MDSPPO Provincial Director PCOL Michael John C. Mangahis alongside his senior staff. Commending the municipal administration and the Ampatuan family, police leadership noted that formalizing land ownership secures a permanent institutional home and base of operations for provincial law enforcement. Underscoring that peace and development go hand in hand, the Politiko reaffirmed the town’s enduring support for the PNP, highlighting that strengthening security facilities reinforces public safety, order, and good governance across Maguindanao del Sur.
