Mayor Bernard S. Waclin Mobilizes TUPAD Beneficiaries for Benguet’s Road Beautification Contest

Mayor Bernard S. Waclin of Itogon has enlisted the support of TUPAD beneficiaries to bolster the municipality’s participation in the Road Beautification Program competition organized by the Provincial LGU Benguet. This competition, which involves all thirteen municipalities, serves as a platform to showcase efforts in enhancing roadside areas to promote tourism activity.

Thirty-seven TUPAD beneficiaries from Tinongdan have been mobilized to conduct a fifteen-day clean-up drive in Sitio Ongkalew, Tinongdan. Their participation forms part of Itogon’s official entry for this year’s competition.

Coordinated by the Provincial Tourism Office, the road beautification initiative aims to encourage municipalities in Benguet to beautify and decorate roadside areas, thereby attracting tourists and enhancing the overall appeal of the region.

The assessment of entries by the PLGU is scheduled to take place from April to May, with awards slated to be presented in June during the Environment Month celebration. This annual event not only promotes environmental conservation but also recognizes the efforts of municipalities in contributing to the beautification and sustainability of Benguet’s landscapes.
