Mayor Dalipe, concerned gov’t agencies ink deal vs crimes in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe has formally signed an agreement with the concerned government agencies to promote proactive measures to curb crimes in the city.

Dalipe inked on Monday, June 10, the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), and the Liga ng mga Barangay for the adoption of the Community Service Oriented Policing (CSOP).

Dalipe underscored the essence of community involvement in crime prevention, as he reaffirmed his administration’s unrelenting commitment to the security sector.

The alliance seeks to create a community-oriented and responsive approach to law enforcement, the city government said.

Under the MOA, the agencies concerned will partner in the adoption of the CSOP framework which bolsters coordination and cooperation among citizenry, local executives and integrated law enforcement and public safety agencies existing in the locality undertaken through program of project complementation, including sharing of information, funds, personnel and logistics.

Also, the signatories will work together for the development of a Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan/ Integrated Area/ Community Public Safety Plan in accordance with the guidelines that will be provided by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

They will also enforce joint programs, projects, services and activities within the CSOP framework as outlined in the POPS plan and adopt and implement other programs which can contribute to the enhancement of access to justice and delivery of justice services.
