Mayor Dalipe demonstrates commitment to elderly welfare with quarterly stipends

Mayor John Dalipe reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of the elderlies in Barangays Rio Hondo and Kasanyangan by personally distributing their quarterly cash incentive.

The event, held at the Zamboanga Central School on February 29, saw a total of 746 senior citizens receiving P1,000 each, totaling P1.749 million in disbursements.

Barangay Rio Hondo had 316 beneficiaries, costing the city government P707,000, while Barangay Kasanyangan had 430 beneficiaries, with a total allocation of P1.042 million.

Mayor Dalipe’s dedication to providing the quarterly cash incentive to all residents aged 60 years and above, regardless of employment, pension status, organizational membership, or religious beliefs, underscores his commitment to the well-being of the elderly community.

Implemented by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the P1,000 quarterly cash incentive is part of the Social Amelioration Program, which aims to express the city’s appreciation and gratitude to the senior citizens for their contributions to Zamboanga City.

“This is a way for the city government to show our gratitude and to recognize the contributions of the elderly to the city,” Mayor Dalipe said.

The quarterly cash incentive distribution is just one of the ways the city government is reaching out and providing support to the elderly community in Zamboanga, ensuring their well-being and acknowledging their significant role in the city’s progress.
