Mayor Dalipe lauds soft opening of publicly-listed hospital in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe has hailed the soft opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Premier Medical Center (PMC) Zamboanga.

He said the hospital is a beacon of hope and a testament to the city’s commitment to providing high-standard healthcare for every Zamboangueño.

“Together, we will build a future where quality healthcare is accessible to all,” he said during the recent event.

PMC, located at Don Alfaro Street in Tetuan, introduces the first and only Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the entire Zamboanga Peninsula.

The state-of-the-art facility aims to provide comprehensive, globally competitive quality healthcare. It offers a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of patients, including primary care, specialty care, diagnostic testing, and more.

PMC initially began operations in October 2023, opening its premier healthcare clinic, laboratory, and private clinics. The center secured its permit to operate in March of this year and will officially begin patient admissions on July 1.

During the event, Atty. Rona Santos, representing Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chair Atty. Emilio Aquino highlighted the significance of PMC’s IPO.

An IPO allows a privately-owned company to list its shares on a stock exchange, making them available for public purchase, thereby transforming PMC into a public company.

Also present at the event were the other local officials, PMC personnel, partners, stakeholders, and hospital staff.
