Mayor Dumlao affirms Surigao City’s commitment to attain SDGs

The Surigao City government led by Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II has participated in a workshop conducted by UN Habitat Philippines, focusing on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) localization.

The mayor, along with the department heads, discussed the crucial role of local government in achieving the SDGs.

The recent workshop featured insights from speakers, including Country Programme Manager for the Philippines Christopher Rollo and Technical Officer Lara Togonon-De Castro.

During the workshop, Dumlao affirmed Surigao’s commitment to aligning its initiatives with global sustainability goals and leveraging local resources to address community challenges.

“This engagement underscores Surigao City’s proactive approach to sustainable development, enhancing its capacity to contribute effectively to the achievement of the SDGs and fostering inclusive growth for its residents,” the city government said.
