Mayor Evangelista opens 26th Kidapawan Cityhood celebration

Kidapawan City Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista has led the opening of the 26th Kidapawan Cityhood celebration.

City councilors, local government employees, students, and other stakeholders participated in the kick-off program Wednesday night, February 7 at the City Pavilion.

“Bagamat simple, naging makulay naman ang pagbubukas ng Charter Day dahil na rin sa panghaharana ng mga local bands, pagkatapos opisyal na ideklara ni Mayor Evangelista na bukas na ang pagdiriwang,” the city government said.

After the opening program, Evangelista and the city councilors proceeded to Suroyan for the ceremonial cutting of ribbon of the bazaar.

The mayor urged the people to participate in various activities for the 26th Charter Day of the city.

Kidapawan became a component city of Cotabato on Feb. 12, 1998 under Republic Act No. 8500 during the administration of late President Fidel V. Ramos.
