Mayor Garay backs digital literacy training for Bislig City Jail women personnel, PDL

The Bislig City Jail, with the support of the city government under the leadership of Mayor Florencio C. Garay, has conducted a three-day face-to-face digital literacy training for all of its female personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in line with the celebration of the National Women’s Month.

The city government said the recent training covered various topics, such as basic computer skills, internet navigation, online safety, and the use of digital tool for communication and learning.

Internet media and information literacy were also included, it said.

Nine personnel and six PDL from Bislig City Jail participated in the training.

“This training aims to empower women by providing them with essential digital literacy skills. By equipping these participants with digital literacy skills, they will be better prepared to navigate the increasingly digitized world and participate fully in various aspects of life, including education, employment, and social engagement,” the city government said.

It said the Bislig City Jail thanked Garay for his support for the program by sponsoring the training, including the provision of meals and other logistical matters.
