Mayor Hataman discusses Isabela City’s economic development, ecotourism in Metro Manila gathering

Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman has shared some “actionable steps” being undertaken by her administration to enhance local economic development through the promotion of ecotourism.

Hataman was one of the speakers during the Learning Session on Social Cohesion and Resilience organized by The Asia Foundation and the Galing Pook Foundation recently in Ortigas, Metro Manila.

The city government said the mayor shared valuable experiences and leadership insights gleaned from Isabela City’s initiatives aimed at enhancing local economic development through the promotion of local ecotourism.

Her presentation provided a deeper understanding of alternative approaches to environmental management and “highlighted actionable steps that can be taken to leverage the potential of local ecotourism for sustainable development,” it added.

The local government said the learning session aimed to foster a contextualized understanding of social cohesion and resilience as integral components for achieving sustained peace and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

It was part of the LGU Fellowship Program supported by the United Kingdom government and implemented in collaboration with the Department of Interior and Local Government.
